REFORD is implementing an external expertise contract for transfer of knowledge and park maintenance guide in frame of the EU Project PARKS - “Prevention of the Areas trough Regional Knowledge and Sustainability”, for the municipalities of Kriva Palanka in North Macedonia and Dupnitsa in Bulgaria. The activities REFORD is conducting will contribute in strengthening the knowledge and skills for maintaining healthier, more attractive, and sustainable parks in the project area.
Assignment Goal
To raise awareness and build practical capacity for the maintenance and development of urban greenery, ensuring parks and public green spaces remain vibrant, well-maintained, and beneficial for community well-being.
Key Activities
- Consultation with Municipal Staff – identifying needs and priorities for park and greenery management.
- Three Joint Trainings – engaging participants from both municipalities on urban greenery planning, care, sustainable maintenance and cross border exchange of good practices.
- Training for Park Maintenance Staff – practical, hands-on sessions on planting, pruning, and caring for park vegetation.
- Preparation of a Park Maintenance Guide – a step-by-step manual for creating and sustaining healthy green spaces.
- Green Days Workshops – interactive activities with students and interested citizens to promote community involvement in park care.
Stakeholders
The project brings together municipal authorities, urban greenery maintenance teams, schools, environmental NGOs, and active citizens from both sides of the border.
Expected Results
- Enhanced capacity of municipal staff and park maintenance teams.
