REFORD has signed a Letter of Agreement (LoA) with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for provision of support to the FAO’ Regional Initiative 1 – Empowering smallholders, family farms and youth, facilitating rural livelihoods and poverty reduction and will contribute to FAO’ Strategic objective: Increase and Improve provisions of goods and services from agriculture, forestry and fisheries in a sustainable manner.
The objective of the LoA is REFORD with its regional network to address related NWFP’s issue through gathering and analysing information on NWFPs in five Western Balkan countries: R. North Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro.
LoA results are:
Production of five “Country desk reviews on the legal status of NWFPs and associated statistics and data collections”, and theirs incorporation in one “Regional study on the status of non-wood forest products (NWFPs) in selected Western Balkan countries”.
